Long Bien bridge
    In 1897, the bridge design competition was held. The plan designed by Gustave Eiffel (who also designed the famous Eiffel Tower building) is selected the plan to build bridge official. Bridge is designed in the style of Tolbiac bridge in District 13, Paris on the railway line Paris - Orleans, France. Then, the construction has been held for bidding and bid-winning company Dayde & Pille execution time for the main part of the Indochinese Communist part of the building for lead. Long Bien Bridge was  originaly called  Pont Doumer (Paul Doumer was the French Governor-General of Indochina from 1897 to 1902)  but Hanoi citizen still called the Long Bien bridge or bridge Cai river( Mother river). it is the combination of creativity, technical ability and the French, the resilience of worker in Vietnam. Long Bien bridge is one of the four largest bridge in the world, a massive steel works best Indochinese peninsula.

In August 1945, revolutionary armed forces from the liberated provinces in the north marched across Long Bien bridge  to participate in the liberation of Ha Noi. A decade later, a decade of protracted struggle against French efforts to re-colonize Vietnam, they were on the bridge again. On 10 October 1954, triumphant Vietnamese soldiers, fresh from battlefield victories, were greeted on the bridge by cheering crowds as they crossed into Ha Noi. Months later, there was a more somber scene on the bridge as French troops rendezvoused to begin their withdrawal from Vietnam after 80 years of colonial rule.
           Long Bien bridge also played a prominent role in the American War. Bombed repeatedly because of it’s strategic value, the bridge was repeatedly repaired using improvised materi¬als and replacement spans. The original Eiffelian design was destroyed in places and never restored in the center, thus breaking its continuous zigzag pattern.
Researchers have statistics: more than 2 million tons of ordnance that American imperialism has been dumping of Vietnam, more than half a torrential road.
            Long Bien Bridge is bombardment by bombs and missiles have control. Twice for broken-down river.              More than 100 years have passed, the values of the past as is deposited on each bridge. Country changed, the capital value changes, but the symbol of Long Bien bridge still exist forever
