
Beaches around Son Tra peninsula: 8km from Danang, passing Han River Bridge is Son Tra. Around Son Tra is many beautiful and wild beaches such as Tien Son beach, But beach, Rang beach, Con beach, Nam beach( south), Bac beach( north)…The beaches have a quite large slope, clean blue water and tourism services: resorts, diving, fishing, climbing mountain.Coming to these beaches you can enjoy sea bathing and seafood specialties. You can go around the peninsula by speedboats. Especially, in Nam beach, tourist can rent canoes to take offshore fish farm, fishing village together with a system of restaurants, fishing area, swimming pool; tourist can fish, watch and enjoy the dishes.
10 km from downtown Danang (as bee-line), Son Tra is a beautiful peninsula long sandy beach with picturesque rapids, primeval forests where there are valuable woods and unusual species of birds and animals. On the top of mountain 700 m above the sea level tourists could see panoramic view of Danang city, the Danang bay, the Marble Mountains and Bach Ma mountain further to southwest.
Son Tra Peninsula is classified s as National Park by the central government. This National Park not only preserves wild life but also a source of a cool clean water.
The peninsula is
a natural screen protecting Danang from storms coming from the sea. Son Tra is
home of several animal species as monkeys, sea tortoise and turtle rarely found
in the world. The eggs of sea tortoise and turtle are good to be exported. In
general Son Tra is a habitat of rare flora and fauna.
Son Tra is not only a natural summer resort for local people at weekend but
also a tourist attraction due to its abundant species of flora and fauna.
In summertime from the cool breezy top of the mountain, one can look down at the city lying along the banks of the brilliant Han river below. It is an enjoyable and peaceful vista.
The Chess board peak is on Son Tra peninsula. This is flat plain covered with old-trees. It is said that this used to be a place for the fairies to play chess and amuse themselves. The stone-stream flows south of Son Tra. At the altitude of 300 m the blue clear current of water fall down directly on pilling rocks which creates a lovely picture
