Hoi sedge mat weaving village
Hoi or Hai Ho village (nowadays it is Hai Trieu, Tan Le ward, Hung Ha district, Thai Binh province) is a river junction land. 
The village has been a center for exchange of goods since the 15th century. Sedge mat profession appeared long time ago, about in the 10th or 11th century. Since the 15th century, Hoi sedge mats have been well known not only in Hai Ho but also in Kinh Bac, Kinh Do region. The development of Hai Trieu sedge mat weaving is related to First Doctoral Pham Don Le, who was born in Hai Trieu village, Ngu Thien district, Tien Hung. He is the first person teaching coastal people how to weave sedge mat. Hoi sedge mats have many kinds such as Cai, Dau, Dot mat, plain mat, colored striped mat, flowers printed mat, etc with different sizes. New mat is ivory white, fragrant and good for your sleep. After being used, its color turns into yellowish, plain, smooth and easy to wash and quick to dry. Particularly, Hoi craftsmen can weave dragons, phoenixes on mat. Hoi sedge mat has been displayed in national fairs and highly appreciated by a lot of domestic and foreign visitors.
