Buon Don village - Dak Lak
Buon Don is a Highland village situated in Krong Na hamlet Buon Don district. In former time, speaking of Buon Don, they considered it as a spacious area spreading smoothly towards the Serepok River, a gentle spring running elephant.Buon Don gains various race character of ethnic minorities such as: Laotian, Khmer, M’nong, J’rai, Vietnamese and lots of North ethnic groups have just come to make their living. The story of  “Buon Don in former” is interesting and strange.

At the border to Laos and Cambodia. Buon Don possesses a unique and diverse culture. Also, it was named Buon Don in the Edeh language and Ban Don in Laotian language. Both words of Buon, Ban mean Village, and Don as the island. The name “The island Village” is the Village situated in the heart of the waterfall of 7 tides. In the dry season, it has got many sets just out as glue with Benjamine figs and vegetables. Buon Don’s myth sung from generation to generation that those miniature houses built in fresh grave of architecture was beautiful sculptured as many monumental pictures and several of long-poems. The Village founder, the hero of hunting elephant, called the elephant hunter’s King whose name is talent Khunsunop. For preventing the tradition, they launched the hard Law on Hunting and Feeding elephant with many anecdotes infatuating most of tourists, researchers…

In 1890, the French appeared in this land and schemed to form Buon Don. After 14 years, the French moved the Metropolis from Buon Don to BuonMaThuot.
